1234s282 looks like you made a mistake when updating the SLIC table ...... the table was in fact still 2.0.... i did a little research and found the tool used dynamic insert method updated to Dell Slic 2.1 Smile

Thanks for your effort tho

I check the other one you did for my Acer 5570z and its slic 2.1

I Included Dell Cert and Huge List of OEM Keys Smile

Bios SLIC 2.1 Dell Tested and working by me

UPDATE FROM ADMIN: Note that despite the filename saying Acer 2.1 SLIC , this really has Dell 2.1 SLIC

hi
My computer is Acer Aspire M5100 too,
but my BIOS version shows R01-A3
What's the difference between R01-A3 & R02-B3
Is this because my version is too old ???
Can I also use the R02-B3 file, 1234s282 uploaded, to upgrade my bios to SLIC 2.1
Thank you~~~

I think simply that R02-B3 is later than R01-A3 , making it more up to date.

Use the link in the post by Firefox1337 , confirmed and tested working

You are never supposed to flash a modded bios in WINDOWS! Please boot into dos, download awdflash, and flash the bios there. You can make a bootable DOS USB drive using the HP Disk Format Tool , which can be downloaded from HP's website.

good Luck!

Hey, new to the forums and so far this is the only site i can find with a BIOS download AT ALL, let alone a modded one. Any chance those links can come back up for this? I cant get my OS to boot into a 64 bit system and heard its likely a bios problem (after searching and trying everything else).

Thanks for the help!

Bios should not prevent your OS from booting , have you tried resetting all bios defaults (Try Fail Safe Defaults and Optimized Efaults if you have both of these optionS)

Hey thanks for speedy reply! Unfortunately I didnt clarify what I meant when it wouldnt boot. Basically, for whatever reason, my video card crashes on any 64 bit system as long as i have more than 3 gigs of ram installed. It doesnt matter if im 256 mb over (a small stick) or if i use a 2 gig stick, so long as there is more than 3 gigs installed my video card crashes upon bootup (took me hours to figure out it was a ram problem causing my vid card to crash).

After hours of researching, i've found others with somewhat similar problems saying that their solution was updating their BIOS and after that their card didnt crash upon booting up the OS.

I was just hoping to find an upgrade to my R01 BIOS version that might work past this glitch in my system. I dont know why the BIOS would have anything to do with it, but i was desperate! lol.

Thanks again for any input you might have into this. I appreciate your time!

Also, i havent actually heard of anyone having this particular problem, if so, they havent linked the ram size with the card yet, nonetheless I find no others with this particular problem. I've installed my own video card as well as my own power supply (650watt). Not sure if that makes a difference.

Thanks!
