Hello,

I'm having problems getting the system listed below to work with 4GB of ram, it just locks up after detecting CPU speed/model. Is there anything that can be done to work around this? Are there any features of this BIOS that can be unlocked?

Hello

I took a look at your bios and there are a few things that can be unlocked. However they are not worth the risk of flashing a modded bios. Its just extra drive information and a few more voltage readouts. i then looked on http://www.crucial.com and found that your computer motherboard only supports a maximum of 2GB RAM

Thats why its not working with 4gb - Because its not built to take it!

Yea, i've been looking at the same thing but there are people who have it working with 4GB but they are on an older BIOS, I updated mine ages agao but Acer don't have the BIOS that shipped on the device up for download. The system works as normal with 3GB, just hangs at POST with 4GB.

Ah well , try and sell off the other 1gb cos it wouldnt give much of a performance boost anyway!
