Archos 133PC unlock request
#1
Hi,

If anyone could unlock this BIOS, I'd be very grateful Smile.
Also, if there's a way of enabling Wifi by default (you currently have to press Fn-F4 during each cold boot), I'd love to know about it.

Many thanks in advance.

Bump. Can anyone help please? I appreciate that this is an Aptio BIOS and that the tools are new. Thanks very much.

Anyone? Please? I'd really like the option to turn wireless on at boot if it's there. Thanks

I don't know if this really is an aptio bios, but you can open it with AMIBCP3.46, that makes me think it might not be.

Is this a netbook?

If it is, then the wifi is probably on a miniPCIe card.

If you tape pin 20 on that card, wifi will be forced always on. Google "wifi pin20 mod".

Hi moral hazard,

Thanks for the reply. Yes, the wifi is on a PCIe card. As it happens, I am an electronic design engineer and am aware of this mod. I will try it, or something a little more extreme Wink as a last resort but would rather look into the BIOS if possible.

Edit: There is an AMI Aptio sticker on the motherboard, it's interesting that you can open in the older tool!

The card is a mini-PCIe Realtek 8191SE. The Notebook's schematic is here http://notebookreparos.com.br/notebooks/...091219.pdf

If I could manipulate the ITE8500's GPIO via that LPC bus, that would give me another option!

The ODM of this netbook is Shuttle (Model: B13IE01). The XS35GT is a remarkably similar product with such an option available in it's latest BOS - but is obviously a nettop rather than netbook/notebook thing.

One last crazy idea before I give up on this one! Looking at the XS35 bios with a hex editor and noting that both motherboards are based on the same schematic, I'm tempted to flash the XS35 BIOS on this netbook! Apart from the possible loss of LVDS interface (hopefully the VGA connector would get me out of trouble and allow me to flash back), how risky is this?! Big Grin Probably a really stupid idea!

Is it easy to unbrick this type of BIOS - can anyone link a relavent thread please?
