Are CPU fan control settings unlockables?

Hello,

My friends Gigabyte GA-EP45T-DS3R (rev. 1.0) does not have the option of setting the CPU FAN Control to Votlage. The option is missing and the fan control only works with PWM fans.

Is it possible to unlock this feature in the bios? Or is there an actual chip missing for that control?

Moved to Award Bios Unlocking Requests, as this board uses an Award BIOS.

I'm afraid the latest modbin breaks the file after saving it, but the board has dualBIOS, so recovery from a bad flash should be easy enough.

Sorry for posting in wrong section. Was expecting a discussion, not a mod yet!

Does that mod only unlock the feature requested? or more?

Loaded the Gigabyte SLIC using award SLIC mod v1.34 and get : "Module DS3_DDR3.BIN has an invalid padding byte (D3)".

Seeing how I am toying with a corrupt image, would it be possible for you to add the gigabyte SLIC before editing the file and reup it?

This Option wasnt available to unlock but i have put Gigabyte 2.1 SLIC in there for you

Here you go , i used Gigabyte 2.1 SLIC + Certificate Included:-

1. Copy and paste ******.XRM-MS certificate file into C-Drive.

2. After pasting this file into C-Drive, go to START - ALL PROGRAMS - ACCESSORIES - COMMAND PROMPT. Right click on Command Prompt and RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR.

3. When Command Prompt opens, type at the prompt: slmgr.vbs -ilc c:\********.xrm-ms and hit the Enter Button. Wait for the Script Host to answer you with a message that the license was installed successfully....this could take a few minutes and so be patient.

4. After receiving the message that the license was installed successfully, type at the command prompt:

slmgr.vbs -ipk *****-*****-*****-*****-***** (Replace with any OEM SLP Product Key for your installed version of Windows 7 , they are not hard to find).Be Patient and wait for the message to say that the Product Key was successfully installed. After it says successfully installed, reboot the computer.

5. When you are back at your desktop, go to START - COMPUTER - right click on Computer and choose PROPERTIES and see if it is activated with an OEM product ID.
