Asrock ALiveNF6G-DVI AM3 support mod
#21
For ALiveNF6G-VSTA only BIOS from 1.90 supports AM2+.

I think the reason is unlocked multiplier.

It's strange because cpu-z shows 1.320 V
[Image: 19834650040973692481_thumb.jpg]
I must check it again in BIOS.

EDIT
In Bios it looks like this
[Image: 64480770397737190934_thumb.jpg]

EDIT 2
I could change the voltage by +/- Tongue, never mind.
I checked those BIOSes. 1.4 to 1.6 works fine. But 1.7 started once, but when I get into setup to change few setting and then reboot it dosen't want to start. I had to clear CMOS to start the PC again. 1.2 and lower I didn't checked yet.

EDIT 3
Eventually versions from 1.1 to 1.6 works good. 1.7 work very very weak. And 1.8 doesn't work.

OK. All work without AM3 support.
You should test beta 2.23 for ALiveNF6G-DVI.

Question
Hello to All.

I think that the Athlon II X2 260u Stepping C2 (AD260USCK23GQ) (TDP 25W!) should work in ALiveNF6G-DVI,
because ALiveNF6G-GLAN P1.80 (and ALiveNF6G-DVI with BIOS L2.28 (2009 year), I think it should) supports Regor Stepping C2 (not C3, unfortunately).
It is correct?
What do you think about this?

And anyway, ALiveNF6G-* can use any AMD CPU with TDP 25W or less than 35W?
What do you think?

Post screenshots of first (CPU) & third (Mainboard) tabs of CPU-Z with current CPU.
Explain exactly what happens when you try to boot with Athlon II X2 260u on this motherboard.

Sorry, there was a misunderstanding.
I don't have this (260u) processor.
I have a desire to choose a processor with TDP of less than 35W.
I do not know if x-DVI L2.28 supports such processors.

I was interested in 260u because:
  1. TDP of less than 35W.
  2. Performance is not worse than the current processor. I'm comparing Average CPU Mark.
  3. Regor, stepping C2, I hope x-DVI L2.28 supports all Regor C2 processors, because:

              Changelog:
Add Support for AMD Phenom II X2 (Callisto) and Athlon II X2 (Regor)
  • L2.28 is released (06/19/09) around the same date as the BIOS P1.80 (04/14/09) for x-GLAN, which officially supports three processors Regor C2 :
Quote:         AM3    Athlon II X2    ADX250OCK23GQ    65W    Regor    C2    P1.80
         AM3    Athlon II X2    ADX245OCK23GQ    60W    Regor    C2    P1.80
         AM3    Athlon II X2    ADX240OCK23GQ    60W    Regor    C2    P1.80

Is it known that if the CPU OPN number (I do not know how correctly) or the CPU friendly name (displayed in the Power-On Self-Test) is not built into the BIOS, can the BIOS work with such a CPU?

What is the probability that Athlon II X2 260u can work in ALiveNF6G-DVI?

If I have violated forum rules - please remove this topic.

I'm sorry if I'm wrong here.

If anyone still needs the Asrock ALiveNF6G-DVI bios beta version 2.28 - inside the last file at the bottom of the page (ASRock Phenom BIOS beta.zip File size 4.33 MiB)

Quote:L2.28 (beta) - Phenom II X4 955 (125W) tested, everything up to Phenom II X4 980 (125W) should work.
Also duplicated here:

On this BIOS I got it working and correctly identified ATHLON II X2 215
