Asrock K7NF2-Raid
#1
Hello , Can someone please look at my bios and see if there are any additional vcore settings , multiplier or any other over clocking settings ? I have an amd 1700+ that has a great stepping for overclockng . I had this cpu on an asus a7n8x deluxe running at 2500 mhz and i would like to step it up on this board . If you could also add slic 2.1 with asus it would be much appreciated as well . Thanks much .I'm attaching bios as well as link . The link to my bios is

Surely you've seen the FSB and multiplier jumpers on the mobo - that's where the real deal is. That's how REAL ASRock's board were made back in the days - with jumpers.
Memory timings and voltages could be adjusted via the BIOS, though.

lol yeah , but the asus a7n8x-deluxe was loaded too and a fella called Uber modded the bios to reveal all sorts of hidden options . Whats can be wrong with accessing hidden options and expanding the horizon ? If there is more flexability hidden away I would like to have it available plus I need the slic 2.1 modded anyway . Asrock was a shootoff from asus and was a cheaper motherboard built with cheaper parts to compete with oem's anyway . Massive amounts of refurbs out there to attest to it's REALNESS . I'm 61 years old now and its a heckuva lot easier if i can sit and change settings in bios rather than bend down , hunt a flashlight , magnifying glass and a pair of glasses to try and see the board to make every change .

The only jumper the A7N8X Del had that affected overclocking was CPU_FSB... I'm not saying the bios tweaking isn't more comfortable than messing with jumpers, but if I'm not mistaken the ASUS had a diffrent price tag... About ASRock's build quality I can say only this - you get what you pay for. I've sold quite a lot of their products and never got a complaint Wink

Anyways, I'm stopping with the off-topic. Good luck with the bios modding Smile

Hi Mate

There werent any options to unlock but i have added SLIC 2.1.

Here you go , i used Asus 2.1 SLIC + Certificate Included:-

1. Copy and paste ******.XRM-MS certificate file into C-Drive.

2. After pasting this file into C-Drive, go to START - ALL PROGRAMS - ACCESSORIES - COMMAND PROMPT. Right click on Command Prompt and RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR.

3. When Command Prompt opens, type at the prompt: slmgr.vbs -ilc c:\hp.xrm-ms and hit the Enter Button. Wait for the Script Host to answer you with a message that the license was installed successfully....this could take a few minutes and so be patient.

4. After receiving the message that the license was installed successfully, type at the command prompt: slmgr.vbs -ipk *****-*****-*****-*****-***** (Replace with any OEM SLP Product Key for your installed version of Windows 7 , they are not hard to find).Be Patient and wait for the message to say that the Product Key was sucessfully installed. After it says successfully installed, reboot the computer.

5. When you are back at your desktop, go to START - COMPUTER - right click on Computer and choose PROPERTIES and see if it is activated with an OEM product ID.

The asus has one jumper and loads of options in bios . the asrock has loads of jumpers and the only selection for voltages are hi and low which is pretty pathetic . Theres no jumpers I can find on this board for vcore or voltages . I had hoped there might be somthing modifiable in the bios to be able to select voltages .

@MaxFrost: I did mention the different prices, didn't I? Again, you get what you pay for with ASRock. Rolleyes

@1234s282: I'm sorry for being off-topic again, but what exactly are the advantages of the SLIC, other than the activation? I've been experimenting with a tool called RemoveWAT on a few 7 installations, and it's working flawlessly.

RemoveWAT is a software loader and can easily be disabled through extra security updates

Bios modding makes your machine look like an OEM activated one and currently cannot be undone - its a permanenet activation solution

Apart from that , SLIC has no other advantages
