Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe Full AM3 Support
#91
I have the M2N-SLI Deluxe, as well, and was thinking about getting the Phenom II X6 CPU. I have the 5001 bios and it works with the Phenom II x4 CPUs, wondering if you tried upgrading to the 5001 bios version with the Phenom II x6?

hello dangerdan84,

i did try 5001 bios before, but it did'nt work. It seems as if X6 CPUs are not in the CPU compatibility list for a reason.

Clueless,

This is going to sound odd, but is there an option for disabling ACPI support. Please try disabling ACPI 2.0 support from BIOS and then coninuing POST. It is possible that the ACPI needs to be updated to see 6 cores, but it looks like the detection routine is working in the latest BETA BIOS.

Hi,

I'm afraid there is no difference in system behavior, wether ACPI is enabled or disabled in BIOS setup.

So I am looking to upgrade my CPU in my M2N SLI Deluxe. I actually still have an Athlon X2 4800+ if you can believe that. I have never successfully flashed the bios before, but I think that I'll try the USB Boot version.

Has anyone successfully booted a 1090t?

Also, what is the best processor currently confirmed to have been booted on this board?

Thanks for your response, and thanks a lot for working on this BIOS.

Hello all,

I have bought the Phenom II x4 955 BE, the Bios shows the cpu correct but any setting i try, all settings are 4x200 MHz - the cpu is not going up to 16x200 MHz

only thing i found, is using a programm ( PhenomMsrTweaker ) it gives me 2 settings, so i can use the 800MHz for idle and full 3200 MHz for gaming.

But this is not what i like, is there any modded bios for the M2N-SLI Deluxe with that solves the problem, or is it possible to add the microcode from another bios ?

Thank you !

I have now installed 5001 Bios , the 1804 Bios fails complete CPU Unknown Sad

Can navigate in the bios only with a trick, enable numberblock and hold down left or right arrow to navigate up and down, hold down up or down key let me navigate with the left and right arrows. stupid thing that Wink

edit:
i have it running now for 19 days but my temp is very high in idle mode.
43° celsius with arctic xtreme

under prime i come after 16 minutes @ 62° celsius

now i will buy me a new board, but i´m not sure if i get better temps with an new board.
i tryed different cooling paste, but all the same temps. could it be that i need better case cooling or would it be ok buying new board to get better temps, because i use phenom tweaker with this m2n-sli deluxe.

any ideas pls? help Huh

EDIT:
HaHa, problem solved, bios voltage was set to 1,3v. Now with Auto setting i have 0,816v IDLE and 1,232 with 3200MhZ
Temp is in idle down to 34° celsius and under prime95 after 50minutes @ 53° celsius

hehe, i won Wink

i think you need somone else with the same board, boot it with your flashdisk or stick, then remove the bios chip from board, and put in your fail flashed bios chip. and flash it back to the old version. turn off pc, change back the bios chips, cross fingers and hope.

i had this problem years ago with an asrock board, my friend had the same board and he has flashed my bios chip back that way. but it is very dangerous because you need to change the bios chips when the pc is running. if i rember right, this is called hot flash. but better wait for some other answers before you go and try this. i don´t know if this would work with any board or with the m2n-sli deluxe. never had this problem again.

i wish you good luck that you get fixed your problem soon

I have been at work getting the other ASUS M2n series boards to where this one is presently, with some promising success. Still working on future plans for this board, especially because I haven't ehard whether or not anyone has gotten the X6's to boot.

Hi,

I tried to get my Phenom II x6 1100T to work on M2N-SLI Deluxe using 1901BETA2 bios, but without success.
CPU is identified correctly and setup works fine, but it hangs - just after POST and HD detection - with a black screen and blinking cursor in the upper left corner of the screen without accessing any disks.

[edit]After disabling fast POST I could see the system stall during ACPI initialization.[/edit]

Is there any update on x6 support for M2N-SLI Deluxe?

clueless

Anyone has a solution for this issue?
