If you google around a bit you'll find lots of people describing your very same issue, unfortunately. Marvell controller is labelled Sata III, but it's indeed crappy and limited by its single PCI-E 1x lane. SSD raid on X58 chipsets like ours is just a waste of potential performance. To get the expected results, you need a new motherboard with Sata III native chipset, there's nothing else you can do if you want to achieve top performance on your Vertex 4 drives. Even with a single Sata III SSD drive, Intel controller outperforms Marvell all-round, even if it's just Sata II. Sorry lad, and welcome to the world of people disappointed by Asus crappy advertisements!

You just flash the bios, modules are provided for geeks willing to modify their own bios. I don't have a guide as I never experienced issues like yours. Did you install latest Intel RST drivers? Games usually don't crash because of controller issues, more likely you have graphic card issues. Anyway, check windows event log and look for disk failures at the same date and time as your crash. If you can't find any, don't blame your controller or drives...
