I just flashed the 1601_S08 BIOS, but I am unable to install the Intel Rapid Storage Technology software version 12.0.0.1083 or 12.5.0.1066 in Windows 7 x64. When I run the setup of these versions it just tells me 'platform not supported'. Does anyone have a workaround for the X58 chipset?

Strange, I am using version 12.0.0.1083 on my Rampage III Extreme w/ Windows 8 64 bit



I can not find them on the official Intel website (can only find the version 11.x.xx.x)

But you can google Intel RST 12.0.0.1083 and there are lots of places to download it

Guys, Intel has officially removed support for old ICH9/10 with 12.0.0.1083 release. I'm surprised you get it running.

Well, no I didn't modify the drivers. It just works...

Yes, I just found out it will install once I changed the AHCI configuration (in the BIOS) from AHCI to RAID. The ICH10R will then be installed as 'Intel® Desktop/Workstation/Server Express Chipset SATA RAID Controller' after running the RST 12.5.0.1066 setup.

Interesting. So you have a single drive and put the controller in raid mode anyway? No issues?
