Well Viogrep seems to have gone AWOL ...

Whilst we are waiting for the army to track him down I thought I'd try the patched bios myself, but Kuma support is still a no go I'm affraid. Sad

I tested an "Athlon" X2 7750BE on my "Packard Bell" MCP61PM-AM Rev 1.0 and it didn't post, I tried resetting the bios etc, so I swapped the 3800+ CPU back in...

WARNING: The modded bios still posts but you can't enter the bios or continue to boot (F1)

I just get a flashing dash symbol in the top left corner, So DON'T flash this bios unless you have a back-up plan.
Undecided

The unpatched Abit M613Z_19 bios worked fine so I hot-flashed it back using an old ASUS A8V board, which I'm really glad I kept now!

One thing I did notice is that although all the fans spin up the power LED doesn't come on with a Kuma installed, strange...

Is there any reason to think we'd have more luck with a Foxconn bios? http://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-EC...-Bios-here

Maybe it's a hardware issue after all, Kuma CPUs aren't on either CPU support list:

http://www.abit.com.tw/cpu-support-list/...nf-m2s.htm
http://www.foxconnsupport.com/cpusupportlist.aspx?type=mb&socket=Socket%20AM2&model=MCP61SM2MA-RS2H%20%20&cputype=AMD

I was thinking about risking the M61PMX bios but it looks like a very different animal: http://www.foxconnchannel.com/product/Mo...-us0000381

Thanks for trying anyway!

Smile

Oh... Looks like I'm disturbiing the long-forgotten dead topic...
I am ashamed! Really! Blush

But...
I'm daring to ask once more (I'm ashamed of my stupidity too, yes!):

Is there a solution to run Kuma processor (7750 BE exactly) on MCP61SM-AM? Huh
