CPU UPGRADE REQUEST FOR SONY VGN-AR11B

hi i want to ask if some can make a mod for the VGN-AR11B to use more cpus.??? thanks in advance nikkpap@gmail.com


 P.S. the latest bios i found for this model is the attached and CPU-Z report txt attached

The 945PM chipset should be able to support any socket 479 Core2 CPU (T7200,T7400,T7600).


i tried with a T7200 but no luck

I visited the cpu world and i found there are three stepping of t7200,below link:

It contains stepping b0、b1 and b2.(cpuid:6f4、6f5、6f6)

But i checked the bios you provide,it's already include micro code for 6f4、6f5、6f6.

I mean that,your t7200's stepping was b2 ,its cpuid was
6f2,but i found it already included on this bios you provided.

So,It should be boot normally,but while in fact it is not in your laptop.
so i think it's not relate about micro code modification.
Maybe has other problem in it,but i can't solve it now, i only be able to modified micro code.

I try to use newer mirco code for 6f6 to injected the bios,you can try them.

i tried the first one with Phoenix WinPhlash for VAIO but i got an error

Maybe you can using "phlash16" to update it within dos environment.

I help member "AlexKilmister" to modified type of phoenix bios like yours,he flash mod bios by phlash16,so you can to refer how he flash bios.

thanks but the only problem on this is that this model cant boot with usb flash drive or usb cdrom but only with usb floppy which right now i don't have any floppy disk here so the  question is can i use a usb flash seen as floppy or can you change the bios ver so i can flash it or any hacked WinPhlash.exe not checking the old new version and force flash the bios ????

You can create a bootable dos usb drive,and get into dos environment to flash bios.

Google for "create bootable dos usb "，you can got several method to make it.

I don't have ability to hack this flash utility,your status just your current bios version as same the mod bios,so utility think it  doesn't need to update.
So i just wanna you to update in the dos.

I only to replace micro code within bios ,it wouldn't  go so far as to bricked .

sorry cant boot from usb, we blame SONY for this what can i do thanks anyway really appreciated
