Can't change boot priority order
#1
My BIOS is Phoenix SecureCore Tiano. Dell version A16 and the computer Dell Inspiron 7720.

When I go to the Boot Priority section of the BIOS settings it shows that "Legacy Boot" is enabled.

Following the on screen instruction I use the Down Arrow to select from the list:

"+USB Storage Device"

I then attempt to move this list option to the top of the list using the "+ / -" keys.

There is no response. The item does not move up in the list.

I don't know if this is intentional on the part of Dell, a bug, or my own in-expertise.

Please can you tell me how I make this item move up in the list?

Hello M1ke47,

Have you tried holding down the shift key while pressing +/- ? I have come across several computers that required that, but did not note it in the BIOS Setup instructions.

~Steven

!!!!!PLEASE READ!!!!!! Our Ukrainian friends are undergoing atrocities right now and need support. There are two things you can do for starters:

1.) Donate to one of various organizations offering medical, military, and psychological support to those impacted: Support Organizations

2.) Combat misinformation on social media.

Also, please feel free to PM me if I have not replied again about your BIOS mod request after 5 days.

Thanks Steven, I have tried it now. also "UP and Down" as suggested in a Dell article I found. No luck so far.
Am I right that it's the Legacy Boot option that should enable this kind of change in order?

I will gladly do that.

Can I do a "PrntScr" at that level of the system or do I need to take photos?

Oh yes! Apologies for my not mentioning that.
I updated the BIOS yesterday to see if that would make any difference.
It didn't.

You have to use a camera or the mobile phone to get pictures !
It doesn0t matter quality just to see all options present !
