Thanks for the research Highly appreciated. However.... the link for the Icy50 does not work (item not available, and the seller of the floppy drive does not ship to Spain. In fact, here in Spain, Ebay is a major problem. The spanish do not use ebay. There are hardly any items on ebay.es. And the number of people abroad (china, uk, usa) who actually accept buyers from Spain is very very small. It always baffled me how such a big successful company as Ebay can be so insignificant in Spain... No idea what the spanish use for their shopping, probably they go to china with mule and cart to buy it...

I killed a friends OLD Compaq 21xx laptop.

I found a number of used motherboards for it on ebay for less than $50. After two were shipped that were wrong (not as pictured or described), I finally got the right one. I installed it and got it working again.
