Dell Vostro 3350
#1
Hi, all i want to upgrade my laptop cpu from 2450m to 3360m.

they both have the same socket and tdp.

i was wondering could this be possible to mod bios so that it is accepting of the new cpu?

at the moment a direct change the laptop powers on but turns off immediately in a cycle.

any input is much appreciated.

Chipset HM67 doesn't support CPU with Ivy Bridge core. So you can't use i5-3360M.

thanks for clearing that up. i really did overlook something crucial.

would this be a hardware or a software incompaitability?

also, would chipset HM65 have compaitability with 3360M?

thnks for your quick help.

Only HM75, HM76 & HM77 support it.
P.S. It's complex incompatibility.
