Dell XPS M1330 A15 Dell 2.1 SLIC
#1
First and foremost, Thank you for taking time to read my request.

I recently got my XPS M1330 but vista is so annoying because it's making my machine work slow.

I am seeking your help if you can mod the bios file for me with SLIC for Windows 7..

Manufacturer: DELL
Model: XPS M1330
BIOS type: Phoenix
BIOS Ver: A15
BIOS Link : ftp://ftp.us.dell.com/bios/M1330A15.EXE
Product Link :http://www.dell.com/content/topics/topic.aspx/global/products/xpsnb/topics/en/us/xpsnb_m1330_sv?c=us&l=en

(Please include the certificate please)

Advance Thank you Biosmods and more power to you guys.

Here you go , i used Dell 2.1 SLIC + Certificate Included:-

1. Copy and paste ******.XRM-MS certificate file into C-Drive.

2. After pasting this file into C-Drive, go to START - ALL PROGRAMS - ACCESSORIES - COMMAND PROMPT. Right click on Command Prompt and RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR.

3. When Command Prompt opens, type at the prompt: slmgr.vbs -ilc c:\********.xrm-ms and hit the Enter Button. Wait for the Script Host to answer you with a message that the license was installed successfully....this could take a few minutes and so be patient.

4. After receiving the message that the license was installed successfully, type at the command prompt:

slmgr.vbs -ipk *****-*****-*****-*****-***** (Replace with any OEM SLP Product Key for your installed version of Windows 7 , they are not hard to find).Be Patient and wait for the message to say that the Product Key was successfully installed. After it says successfully installed, reboot the computer.

5. When you are back at your desktop, go to START - COMPUTER - right click on Computer and choose PROPERTIES and see if it is activated with an OEM product ID.

Thanks again to the OP for this wonderful BIOS.

I read all the instructions, and just had a quick question before I install this into my M1330.

If I am using an official Dell-branded Windows 7 CD, do I need to use the included certificate?

Can I simply update my M1330 bios to the SLIC 2.1 version and just install the Dell-branded Windows 7 CD?

Is it correct to assume that the installation will proceed without needing to manually enter any serial number or certificate?

Thanks in advance,

Matt

I'm posting this response to my question for anyone who had the same question:

"Thats correct , if you download and flash the modded bios with Dell 2.1 SLIC and use Dell installation media then the correct key and certificate will be installed automatically

Which Win7 DVD did you use? Was it a Dell-branded DVD?
You should use a Dell branded Win7 DVD.
