G60-637cl Bios Fail
#1
Attempting to recover from a failed BIOS flash. Right now machine has the power, charge and power button lights blinking. There is no backlight and CMOS checksum screen does display, but will not respond to F1 or F10 (also tested with external keyboard). Have made and inserted the HPDiagnostic USB, but never get the Bios recovery screen. Copied all three .FD files from HP driver page and renamed .bin to the root and Hewlett-Packard\Bios\current. I don't know what the bios naming structure should be, or if I need a .sig file, but the recovery screen does not show. Not sure where to go from here. Sold as Win7 has been upgraded to Win10. Any insight would be appreciated.

Answer I recieved from LatinMcG in another forum.

     not EFI.. no diagnostic son its download page.
    seems its old style

    plain root of usb 360B.fd with one of these names and Fn Esc keys or Win B

    [Platform_Check]
    flag=2
    PlatformName=D5AS
    PlatformName2=360B
    PlatformName3=3611
    PlatformName4=360C
    PlatformName5=3616
    PlatformName6=3612
    PlatformName7=3617

What else I tried.

I put the 360bf65.fd in the root, named 360b.fd (not .bin) and it is hitting the usb drive, but still have the checksum error screen with no backlight and lights still blinking. How long should I wait before pulling and putting a copy of said file with all the filenames you listed? Should I see a change in the screen when it actually works? I would guess if it gets to the CMOS error it is not flashing. Thanks for the quick response BTW.

Edit: Copied the file with all the file names listed as .fd and .bin.....no love. Should I do this with the other 2 versions of the bios?

If anyone has another idea it would be appreciated.
