Another option would be to just swap the vga module with one that isn't locked down so much.

Well we haev two ways to go:-

Either theres something in the VGA rom that wont get it higher than 600mhz

OR

We are going to have to hex edit the bios to change the max value. I know some theory but will need time to research and have never done this before!

no because the restriction is in the BIOS , not in the VGA rom!

Any updates of progrss on this one, lets try and keep this moving forward. If the restriction is in the BIOS and its an onboard chipset, why not replace the VGA.ROM in cbrom?
