GIGABYTE GA-880GM-UD2H FX8100 Support?
#11
I once had a system that had no post prior to adding microcode & after it booted and worked fine...

No chance of micro code update?

No chance

Okay so this motherboard cannot support 8 core CPU?

All I can say that this BIOS doesn't support AM3+ CPU. Only AM3.

I was thinking something like CBROM could be used to add microcode ...

Can you add FX8100 microcode to the original F8 bios just so I can test?

No, new microcode in new module AGESA10.B2, not in NCPUCODE.BIN

I think you can do it because your a genius with this stuff & maybe it would work?  It would be wild stuff to get the Fx 8100 working... It would mean so much to me if you actually got it working... Just to dream of the FX 8100 on this system would make my year.

This is how it stands so far AMD Opteron 1389 up to 3.625Ghz Quad Core with 2.750Ghz Hypertransport & Northbridge with an 80mm 80cfm Delta CPU Fan at 5 volts & Marvell PCIe SATA III 128GB SSD & 1TB HDD & Gigabyte AMD Radeon RX 560 4GB up to 1480Mhz Core & 2000Mhz Memory Power DeLimited no gpu power limit at 256 watts.  Letting the RX 560 soar.

What does it mean the new microcode module is AGESA10.B2 vs NCPUCODE.BIN? It should in NCPUCODE.BIN right ... ?

It would awesome if you could figure it out & add the FX 8100 microcode.

No. Microcode for AM3+ CPUs is always inside AGESA's module, not in common microcode's module.
Without new AGESA module AM3+ CPUs can't boot.

It looks like both F8 & FA Bios have a AGESACPU.ROM module as well as NCPUCODE module

I also dumped the CPU Code from FA BIOS into NCPUCODE.BIN using CBROM195

Isn't it possible to merge the microcode from one bios to another?  I dumped the microcode from .FA bios to NCPUCODE.BIN...
