Gateway FX6800 (TBGM01)

(03-17-2015, 08:06 AM)Suad Wrote: I see theres still work done for this board. Just got curious so I checked the thread.

So now 2 questions bumped up in my head: I aways used the fx6800 TBGM-01 R01.B0 Bios, but recently I read that the fx6803 also have the TBGM-01. Can someone confirm this? Because on gateways website the Bios version is P01.A0 and the vendor is Acer. But jbla0712 mentioned it in this thread, so...

My second concern is where to get this Bios, I mean the modded version, that @jbla0712 mentioned/used, or how to gain the extra settings in my R01.B0.

I am currently on stock R01.B0, no mods, nothing.

I took the official one and modded it myself that has a few added micro codes.  I'll attach a copy here.  I find that doing it in DOS doesn't work for me, only with the Windows flash.

I also downloaded the P01.A0 but have not opened it up to look around.  Will have to do that some time soon.

I'm pretty new to this, how do I flash it in Windows? I've done normal bios updates but not a modified one like this. I'd really like to get a little more out of my FX6800. Thanks for the help!

Edit: Figured it out. I guess we still don't have a way to raise memory frequency though?

I'm happy to see that others are still working on this. I feel like my I7 920 has some life left for sure, especially if we can unlock this dang motherboard.

I tried doing the same thing that Hazard did, I think, by unlocking everything and allowing access to the user, but it still seems I can't adjust frequencies or voltage. Very frustrating.

Also, flashing by using windows has been incredibly fast and easy.

Anyone figure out how to run System Ram at their supported specs?  I am unable to run ram at 1333 or 1600, just 1066 (Even with the setting "Force Ram to Run at this Speed").

Also if anyone wants to revert back to their old unmodified BIOS, I was able to do this by D/L AMI's latest flash utility, 'Programming All Blocks',  and loading up the BIOS from Gateway's website

I have a Gateway FX6800-01e (x58 chipset), which I believe uses that same TBGM01 motherboard.  I tried the unlocked BIOS, and even with 'Force 1333', I can't get my memory to run at that speed (only 1066), anyone on here figure out how to get Ram to run at those speeds or higher? I saw a few others on this forum having the same issue.
