Gigabyte GA-P31-DS3L
#1
Hey everyone,

Very new....so be gentle Smile

Just wondering what can be done with the above BIOS and what potential benefit it may give to me as I know its getting long in the tooth.

I am currently having problems running an NEC based USB 3.0 PCI x1 adapter (made by Akasa) in this board and was wondering if it might be down to my overclock.

Really struggling to get help with this one so hoping someone here can give me a steer.

My OC is based on the tried and tested 400x9 approach with an Intel Q6600 and yields a healthy 3.6 Ghz which I have been very happy with for years now.

i noted that when I try to hartd set the PCI frequency to 100 in the BIOS, the machine fails to boot OC'ed and reverts to fluffy settings.

I never thought of trying the USB 3.0 with the standard clock and will do so tonight.

Just thought some gurus here may offer some suggestions?

Regards
Andy

As an update, I tried chaging the PCI frequency to 101 and this failed at boot resetting the BIOS.

I allowed this to run and my card was detected as expected, without the OC

Sad
