HP 250 G4 Unlock InsydeH20
#1
Please help unlock bios,so I can access the hidden settings:

Model PC : HP 250 G4 Notebook PC
Bios Revision : F.1F Rev.A
Bios Link : http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp74501-75000/sp74599.exe

My problem: My laptop is very slow. In event viewer I found Kernel-Processor-Power event 37 - The speed of processor 0 in group 0 is being limited by system firmware etc..

Thanks in advance!

Da Vinci Code thank you very much for the answer!

But I still tried to solve the problem.

My first choice:
1. Unzip the firmware from the site HP.
2. PhoenixTool.
3. Universal_IFR_Extractor.
4. efi_shell , setup_var ....
but efi shell hangs when the command setup_var
4. took here a modified EFI_shell .
but it gave an error: can't set variable using efi (error: 0x00..0001a)

my second choice:
1. Сreate a complete dump of bios fptw (intel flash programming tool, Intel_ME_System_Tools_v10.0_r4 )
2. efi-variable-dumpe, but I got an error variable pack not found
I tried manually changing
2.  PhoenixTool, hxd, IDA, but fptw when you rewrite the BIOS gave an error: (Error 280: Failed to disable write protection for the BIOS space!)

And then I came across an article:

Code:
When entering the BIOS setup page, press “A” key to activate the advanced configuration mode.
Let’s take HP Pavilion dm3 for example.
1. Press F10 when the system is booting (Press F10 key to enter the BIOS setup windows on all HP platforms).
2. When it shows “entering the BIOS setup”, press “A” key before the BIOS setup window appears.
You should be agile when doing this.

It work great ( tried on BIOS F.21 Rev.A, F.1F Rev.A HP 250 G4)!!! That's what I wanted! So simple Smile

In the tab Power (CPU Power) turned off all of the technologies influencing the operation of the processor.
And in Windows7->Control panel->Power supply->Put High performance->in the advanced tab (power management CPU) 100%, active.

Kernel-Processor-Power event 37, gone. The laptop is working fine!
