HP DV6745US BIOS Whitelist Mod request
#1
Hi,
Came across this site during one of my many searches for BIOS mods for HP DV6700 laptops. I feel like I just found a gold mine!

I have a DV6745US laptop (KC300UA) and am in need of a hacked BIOS for it. I would like to replace the Atheros wireless card that came with the laptop (b/g wireless plus Bluetooth) with another Atheros card (b/g/n plus Bluetooth). I have the most current BIOS update from HP (Ver: F.33) installed. Link to BIOS file (sp48124) is below:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-89391-1&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=3646950&sw_lang=&os=2093

Here is the Hardware ID info for the current Atheros card:

PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_001C&SUBSYS_137A103C&REV_01

The new (to me) Atheros card:

PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_002A&SUBSYS_1381103C&REV_01

I would prefer a whitelist-removed file but will settle for just a mod allowing me to just use the new card, preferably on a new chip so that if it fails I can just swap back to the original BIOS chip.

I hope someone here can help me.

Thanks for reading this. Keep up the great work.

P.S.: The DV6745US is an AMD Turion 64 X2 laptop.

Thanks for the quick reply TTAV134. Unfortunately the link to the file returns a page stating that the file has been deleted.

Well, just tried (twice) the downloaded file and it doesn't work. Still get the 104 error. At least my laptop still works. Smile

I think we are facing a problem with vbs script and the bios is not flashed.

In bios folder, create a new file named flash.bat with the following command:
START /WAIT CScript QUANTA.vbs
save file, and launch flash.bat

depending of your windows version (32 or 64bit) open the SWinFlash or Winphlash64 folder. If you find a file named BIOS.WPH the script have made his job and we are on good way.
Then flash with SWinFlash.exe or WinPhlash64.exe

I am assuming that would work for my computer. I have the same bios F.33, AMD tk55, but am running windows 7. I have a valid Product ID, just not understanding SLIC 2.1, and says no certificate, perhaps this program check is outdated to not be able to find the certificate.
