I have the F.1A BIOS in my dv6t-6100 and I wanted to say that the default card is:
Intel WiFi Link 1000 BGN
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0084&SUBSYS_13158086&REV_00
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0084&SUBSYS_13158086

I'm sure many of you already know this but I will post it for those who don't, I didn't.

Many newer HP machines contain a disk partition labeled "HPTOOLS". This partition contains Intel EFI (Extensible Firmware Interface) applications. These are applications which can be executed by the BIOS before the operating system is loaded.

If HPQFlash locates a "\Hewlett-Packard\BIOSUpdate" folder on any drive, the utility will simply write the new bin and sig files to the "\Hewlett-Packard\BIOS\New" folder. Upon reboot the EFI BIOS Update utility will display a message that a new bios is available. If you proceed with the upgrade, the utility will report that the new bios is corrupt and abort the upgrade process. By simply renaming the BIOSUpdate folder before running HPQFlash, the patched utility will flash the BIOS directly from Windows and will ignore the incorrect signature.

Although the bios gets flashed successfully, upon reboot my Probook 4520s detects that the bios is corrupt and automatically uninstalls it. I'm guessing these bios have some type of checksum but I'm not sure. If the bios finds a "\Hewlett-Packard\BIOS\Current" folder, the previous bios is restored. If not, the system bricks.

Fortunately, recovery is simple. On this particular system, the WIN+B trick is not required to recover from a bricked state. Simply copy the bin and sig files to a USB stick (or CD) in "\Hewlett-Packard\BIOS\Current" and power up. The system will search for the folder on all available devices.

I'm not sure where to go with this next, but I wanted to share what I have discovered.

In the meantime,if you want me to help by providing a modified bios then please reply to this post with details of existing wireless card and the new card. The info I'll need is the VEN_ ,DEV_ and SUBSYS_ id's.. Follow the steps below to get this information.

1. Remove existing wireless card from laptop, leave the access cover off.
2. Boot laptop and enter boot selection screen.
3. Install new card (whilst laptop is running), no need connect antenna wires.
4. Boot into windows and new card will appear as unknown device.
5. Now you can obtain exact ven, dev & subsys id's from device properties

Hi, I'm looking for a bios for a dm3-1030us with the whitelist removed. Because this is an OEM laptop, it would be even better if a slic 2.1 could be implemented for Windows 7 Ultimate, though this is definitely not required. WWAN is the most important thing at the moment.

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp48501-49000/sp48823.exe contains the newest bios, F28A.

Thank you!

For Slic-ing your bios after whielist is removed post the file in the slic requests section. Wink Will make a nonwhitelist bios asap.
