HP ENVY 15z-j000 Bios Unlock Request
#1
HP ENVY 15z-j000
Insyde Bios
F.08

Bios d/l link: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softw...60&sw_lang=

What I am looking for is support for faster ram. AMD supports 1866 RAM but HP has the RAM locked at 1600. If possible I would also like to run 2133 RAM.
I would also like advanced gpu options that would allow me to disable either the integrated or dedicated gpu independently as well as clock settings for both the dedicated and integrated gpu as well as clock settings for the ram. Power state settings for the cpu as well as clock and multiplier settings would be nice.

I know this is a tall order. If this is or is not possible please let me know.
A big thank you to who ever can tackle this.

I am looking for the same thing. I have the same setup, but mine is an hp envy 15 ts j-009wm. i would like to have access to my ram, northbridge, and be able to give my integrated graphics more ram, like 1gig rather then stock 768MB. I have ddr3 1866 1.35v in my laptop and would love to use my rated speed.

Thanks for any info you guys could give me. If any of you have any quitions for me just pm me.

These bios, like all new HP bios, have a startp signature verification check. This prevents the rom from being modified because it will cause it to fail the check. You can try out Falseclock's perl script post whihc goes over how to change the EFI global variables via and EFI environment.

Figure this is the same, but have to ask just to be sure:
Does this go for the Envy 15t-j000 as well?
