HP G series bios unlocking
#1
Really? I have been searching that in a while but it seems nobody have unlocked G series bios! Why? Is it so hard to do that or you guys just not want to unlock? I know this is a volunteer work but even one of us offer money to do that and still nothing. Most of us want this because of we don't have switchable graphic menu on bios because this [censored] HP didn't release bios update for us. And it seems they won't release in future. We have been waiting for a year but still nothing. So come on guys, we need your help! I know some of you will come to help. At least I hope...

Are you referring to this? We get a lot of requests a day, and we do our best. I particularly lead a busy life and most of my modding time as of late has shifted to managing the site itself. Please verify this link and who "we" is so that we can look at available options.

I understand your situation. I'd not open this thread If I've not to. We really need your help because only way to fix this problem is unlock bios. But there is no useful help come to hand until now. Here is some of folks having this problem like me:

http://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-HP...anced-menu
http://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-RE...lease-help
http://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-Re...-g6-2003eq
http://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-HP...ock--10833
http://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-Re...ios-Unlock (this is exactly what I want, only different model of G6)
http://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-Re...IOS-Unlock (the guy who offer money to do, still no success)
http://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-Re...anced-menu
http://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-HP...enu-unlock

Those are newer ones. Still there were many request, revelant to my problem or not, for G series but none of them have solved. Sure there is some folks trying to help but very few. If you can solve, at least, our problem we will be very appreciated. Please excuse my English.

Pretty much all HP BIOS are digitally siigned, change even a bit and it most likely won't flash, at least not with normal tools. And if it flashes it will pretty much in every case end in a semi-brick.
There might be some possibilities to flash it, but pretty much no user would risk a complete brick.

The last couple of HP BIOS which I modified for some users didn't flash, and no one wanted to risk a complete brick, so it's just wasted time. And yes, it is pretty time-consuming and requires a bit more than just a mouse click.

If I had an HP system I could test some stuff myself, I can always recover, but I don't have access to such an HP system.
In case you don't care about a complete brick, let me know.

How can you? Could you tell me how to do this? If this is something that I can do my own (recover stuff), then maybe I'll take the risk. I read some articles about recover bios from USB, is this something like that or not? What are disadvantages of getting complete brick, then recover back the original bios?

Also, if you can mod this bios, whether work or not I won't blame you, I'll be in your debt.

I know man. Sooner or later, hope all we can solve our problems.

You need to directly program the flash memory of your system, nothing you can do with software / USB methods.

Modifying a bios which nobody is going to test is just not worth the time, there are some things which might work with the HP stuff, but no guarantee on this.
