HP Pavilion Tx1000, Tx2000 Phoenix Bios
#1
Hi Everyone, I'm starting this post because i'm looking for help with this well known laptops Hp's Pavilion Tx1000 and Tx2000, the main issue with this laptops is the GPU overheating, that causes a motherboard fail after a short period of use, after a long research on how to deal with the extreme temperatures drawn by the machine I ended up thinking that a possible solution is to somehow undervolt the CPU AND the GPU, the CPU undervolt was successful and I managed to lower the temperatures a lil' bit but the GPU is still very hot and there's no software to underclock/volt it under windows so my last resort is to try and undervolt it by BIOS.

the problem comes here, as it is an IGP it doesn't seem to have and independent VBIOS chip to flash with the modified core voltages/clocks, I've already tried flashing it with nvflash and get the error 'Could not enable PROM PINS' even with the argument --protectoff it fails to read/write anythiing from the card.

I've read somewhere that those values (GPU vcc/clocks etc) are integrated in the main system BIOS in this kind of laptop so the thing would be somehow find them in the bios file, edit them and then flash the whole system with the GPU undervolted/clocked to help and reduce the temps, but I don't know how to do it, when I open my bios file with Phoenix Bios Editor, All I see is a bunch of hex digits I can't fully understand so I'm asking help from someone to help me find and edit the GPU voltage/clock values and edit them.

I Hope someone can help.

Additionally I've started another thread here: http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/topic/3...via-flash/ in case anyone needs more information.

Pd: I've Attached my current BIOS file, is a modded BIOS to remove whitelist. credits to TTAV134 for that.
