Install official BIOS update - https://whp-aus1.cold.extweb.hp.com/pub/...p44647.exe
Then try to boot with Q9650

I finally decided to do as you instructed and everything is working flawlessly all 4 cores are showing up thank you so much for your help sorry if I got on your nerves heard a lot of risky business about updating BIOS and can't afford a new computer.
