HP Spectre w023dx 13"

Hi there,

I am new to the forum, and to bios-modding in general, so please excuse me if I make any dumb question. I will try to dig a little bit deeper today in the different posts that are pinned.

I am trying to repurpose an old HP Spectre w023dx for daily usage, this laptop is using an i7-7500u CPU (gen 7th kaby lake) and right now is using an intel 8265NGW m2 card. This is also the only mentioned card in the service manual for this laptop in the spare parts section.

I have been trying to look around on The Internet trying to find out if upgrading the m2 connected wifi card would be possible, and then I found out about whitelists, and then this forum, but I have not found specific information about this device, and any possible upgrade paths.

My first question would be, regardless of any whitelist, Does this hardware support an upgrade to a wireless card like intel ax200 or ax210 or is it too old to support wifi 6/6e/BT 5?.

In case it does, I would assume there is a whitelist in the BIOS, the BIOS version currently installed is the latest version provided by HP for this model, which can be found here, https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp111501-...111954.exe , Would it be possible to modify it to remove this whitelist checking? or is it signed/checked in such a way that it cannot be changed?.
