Help, Laptop is Bricked !
#11
I checked your Bios backup and Staenos too comparing and They are different into DMI region data
This Laptop is selling into two configurations :

1. Win7
2. Win8

So It's possible that Stenos has different S.O. and may be different MoBo configuration !

Now You try for first thing to reset CMOS removing Battery from MoBo or using the jumper
near Battery if present.
Then let me know, I will prepare an Recovery Bios file to try the Laptop Bios Recover !

Let me know which is your Windows S.O. 7 or 8 ?

Ok there are two files :

1. Win7 recovery bios

http://rghost.net/7qGrtJqwS

2. Win8 recovery bios

http://rghost.net/65nNQrvPY

Choice for your laptop the version applied for your S.O. then prepare an USB Stick
not bigger than 4 GB Format it into Fat32 and copy into the Recovery File (file extracted
= unpacked) Not folder only the FX64.fd file !!!
Then use the Recovery Procedure :

- Shutdown the netbook (notebook)
- Remove all peripheral devices
- Remove battery, Remove AC power cord
- Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds (battery and AC power still out), then release
- Put the USB Memory Stick in the USB port
- Hold "Fn" + "Esc" and plug the AC power cord in
- Now press the power button (whilst still holding Fn + Esc).
Wait until the fan will run, then release "Fn" + "Esc" keys
- The fan will run for about 2-10 minutes and the USB drive activity LED will blink
- I think the netbook rebooted automatically. If it doesn't, unplug the AC power cord once the fan has turned off

The bios should be updated with the modified BIOS, and boot as per normal.

May be on Toshiba You have to use different Keys combination so try to use too

Fn+ESC, Fn+B, Fn+F, Win+B

Let me know
Regards

P.S. If It will not work then try to rename the FX64.fd as Insyde.fd or Bios.fd and try again !

I just updated my last post in the original thread with some new file-names and a key combination known to work for toshiba laptops (Fn + F) take a look there and try if you haven't already or if you still got the laptop.

My tip is have multiple copies of the bios file on the usb with the different names so you don't have to rename the one file many times.

Yes Stenor is right !!!
At last I suggest to buy the tools SPI Programmer and a Pomona Soic Clip (cheaper cost) to make
the Firmware recovery !
Look here :

https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-R...5#pid74575

I have your Bios Backup yet and can rebuild your Firmware !
Let me know
