How to disable BIOS password (That I have)
#1
Working on my daugthers Toshiba SateliteL305-S5944. The BIOS is Insydeh20 Ver 1.90

"I know the BIOS password" but would like to eliminate the password request on boot. The reason is because she forgot the Windows Vista password and I located a boot utility (PCLogin) that claims to be able to clear the Windows password.

The PCLogin program appears to be interupted by the BIOS password stage?

I tried clearing the CMOS via the jumper...but the password request continues to display on boot.

Thanks
Ed

1st of all how to clear bios password.

If you have it, just get into bios

then security then type in the previous password

and nothing into new
twice

Check also if it has an hdd password if there is one you have to remove it because that means the hdd is crypted any sort of tools for crypted hdd will work since it's decrypted in live.

to remove the hdd password it's also in security tabs of bios.

Then it depends of the size of the hard disk but it may take up to 3 days to decrypt the whole hard drive.

for windows password you can use hiren's boot cd and then the offline password utility

it can erase every sort of passwords disable/enable acounts won't work if hard drive is crypted .....
You can also for windows use the safe mode.

press F8 quickly to have the safe mode menu.

boot in safe mode select administrator and then in control pannel goto to user management

in user management select your daugthers account then remove password. it should be ok.

Thanks for clearing up the bios password problem. I'm all set in that phase now...boots right to Vista. The problem is PCLogin gets an error message and stops. ALSO: There are (2) accounts on the Toshiba, my grand daughter's account and the Administrator (my daughter). It''s the Administrator password that was forgotten.

SafeMode also requires the Admin Password...so I can get into Vista via my grand daughters account..but not via the Administrator and PCLogin won't work.

Any other ideas?

Thanks

Hello AseMetric

You can use this video tutorial to see how it goes to move out every passwords from this computer :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JIx46zQlKCk

Using Hiren's boot cd. The direct link for HBCD : http://www.hirensbootcd.org/files/Hirens...D.15.1.zip download, unzip burn on a cd boot the computer with the cd, choose offline NT password changer,

Then follow the steps shown on the video, it can remove any sort of passwords from XP/Vista/Seven tested ok.

For burning the iso everything is insyde the zip.

Best Regards.
