Hp ECS MCP61PM-HM (Nettle2)

Hi

Right i dont know what happened , but for some reason , the old post went for a walk and didnt come back!

So this is the new thread Tongue

What We Have So Far :-

There Is a Modded 5.16 Version With Overclocking , We Are Trying To Make A Modded 5.27 Version

We have tried extracting _ITEM.BIN from the modded one (Which contains the options) and inserting to the original 5.27 = CORRUPT

Looking at the screenshots above , the only thing that the modded 5..16 has over the 5.27 is the Power Management Menu , where the original modder has placed all the overclocking options.

We then had the idea that anything placed above the "Main" in hewlett packard bioses is not displayed in the bios. We moved the other menus down from the top (Advanced Chipset , Advanced bios etc) but came ot the conclusion that this was really just a dead end , as the modded version still had the same setup structure.

WE HAVE SUCCEEDED Big Grin HERES THE MOD , OVERCLOCK TO YOUR HEARTS CONTENT!

Now take an unmodded BIOS and release the _ITEM.BIN and _EN_CODE.BIN modules using the latest CBROM program.

According to the modbin6 instructions, doesn't the _EN_CODE.BIN also have to be inserted along with the _ITEMS.BIN at the same time. I think they're dependent or otherwise it'll corrupt it. Also you used cbrom to do this correct?

Nope i used Award Bios Editor (Which is basically CBROM with a GUI)

Il keep trying lol Tongue

How are you getting along?

I tried with CBROM and couldn't do squat because I'm not to familiar with CBROM. Yet wthen you extracted ITEMS. BIN did you include encode.bin? Also can you link the award bios editor so I can look at it with something besides modbin6. Also, when in modbin6 I noticed that the modder would've had to create a new space,/brach in power to be able to move that power management value over. So does anyone know how to create a new blank branch?

http://sourceforge.net/projects/awdbedit/

Ive used the "Replace" option and also removing the old ones and inserting the new one

And yes , i used both _EN_CODE.BIN and _ITEM.BIN

Heres the result net527.bin when you use the other _EN_CODE and _ITEM (Open with modbin , you will see what i mean!)

I know how to create options when the blank branch exists already , but not when one doesnt exist Sad

Thanks for the info. I'm gonna do some more research and work, and thanks for the link. Please try to get a hold of any good BIOS modders you know, I already have and I think you should send a message to Polygon who is the Admin of Rebel Haven and really knows this stuff cold. Ill work on it some more and post back tommorow.

Thanks,
Chris

Very good idea, I was going to register there yesterday but I had family obligations.

Update: Had success adding the Power Management Menu tree to the Power Menu. Still working on extracting features but at least now I figured out how to add a tree.

I HAVE NO IDEA HOW I DID THIS! After I moved the power menu into a new branch I moved it back up, then thinking I messed it up I closed it but when I opened it back up all of the hidden menus and options magically unlocked! I need to send this to you immediatly. Check your inbox!

Wow,
Chris
Sorry about double email, but the second version was much cleaner. Ill post a how to possibly on modding all of these hp bioses.

Cheers!!
