If Problem is locked bios(Acer 5745)
#1
PROBLEM: SYSTEM WON'T BOOT AFTER MEMORY UPGRADE

Acer Aspire 5745
SNID 02901299725
MODEL: ZR7

PREINSTALLED MEMORY MODULE: 2+1 GB SAMSUNG(2R), ELPIDA(1R) DDR3
"SYSTEM MEMORY DETAIL REPORT IS ATTACHED".

MEMORY FOR UPGRADATION IS KINGSTON KVR13S9S8/4G(2 MODULES)
"DETAILED SPECIFICATION IS ATTACHED.

UPGRADING PROCESS TAKEN;

1. REMOVED BOTH RAM AND REPLACED WITH THE NEW ONES

RESULT: A BLACK SCREEN DISPLAYING MESSAGE;
A RECENT H/W OR S/W CHANGE.........
1. REPAIR SYSTEM (RECOMMENDED)
2. NORMAL BOOT

{
ACTION 1: REPAIR SYSTEM(REC...)

RESULT: BACK TO THIS SCREEN

ACTION 2: NORMAL BOOT

RESULT: BACK TO THIS SCREEN
}

AFTER THIS FAILURE REPLACED WITH ORIGINAL RAM AND RESULT IS SAME SCREEN
BUT REPAIR OPTION HAS WORKED THIS TIME AND THE SYSTEM IS OK.

2. REPLACED BOTH THE RAM WITH A SINGLE NEW RAM I.E. 4GB

RESULT: DISPLAYS WIN START SCREEN BUT THEN BLUE SCREEN APPEARS OF SOME RECENT H/W OR S/W CHANGE............

SOME FREQUENCY ERROR IF I COULD REMEMBER (DOUBTFUL)----DON'T COUNT THIS

3. PUT THE RAM IN OTHER SLOT AND CHANGED WITH OTHER NEW MODULE

RESULT: SAME BLUE SCREEN OR THAT BLK AND WHITE SCREEN OF 1ST STEP

4. UPGRADED BIOS SUCCESSFULLY TO LATEST "V1.19" FROM "V1.11"

RESULT: NO RESPITE ;(

*GRAPHIC CARD IS INTEL HD 128MB(IT SHOWS IN BIOS)*

If present BIOS setting is the problem?

Unlocking and resetting would help which is presently locked(if 'am not wrong)

ANY HELP IS MUCH APPRECIATED!

This sounds like some issues with hardware compatability. Are you sure you laptop can use the those new ram dimms?

And your getting those errors from Windows, so you can try reinstalling windows with the new ram inserted. That might work.

I think so, however, I've attached the old & new ram specifications. Please check!
I've noticed that when i changed both the rams together,
the system won't show win logo, but when i tried single ram after removing
the old ones, it does show win logo as usual(not showing that b/w error screen),
but stuck after that & displays blue screen error. Afterwards, all the attempt to boot
displays that b/w screen of error and the attempt to repair don't move ahead.
