Hi guys, we have some M90q Gen 3 systems (one without a cpu) that we are looking at upgrading and/or replacing Raptor Lake/Raptor Lake-S chips into. By default, they only support Alder Lake chips (Generally T series, but non T can work as well with upgraded power adapters). Attempting to slot in anything from Raptor Lake/S causes the system to not boot at all.
AIDA64 CPUID Field Reported Hardware Specification
Processor Name 12th Gen Intel® Core i5-12400T (Spec code SRL5X)
Code Name Alder Lake-S
Platform / Socket LGA1700
Lithography Intel 7 (10 nm)
Cores / Threads 6 Cores / 12 Threads (6x Performance, 0x Efficient)
Base Clock 1.8 GHz
Max Turbo Clock 4.2 GHz
L2 / L3 Cache 7.5 MB L2 / 18 MB L3 Intel Smart Cache
TDP / Base Power 35 W (Max Turbo Power: 74 W)
Instruction Sets x86-64, MMX, SSE (1, 2, 3, 3S, 4.1, 4.2), AVX, AVX2, FMA3, AES, VAES, CLMUL
What we have found, physically, is that the M90q Gen 3 and Gen 4 are identical.
What we are wondering, is how feasible it would be to mod the bios file to allow Raptor Lake/S silicon, and install over USB, OR, if there is anything we should be aware of when it comes to cross-flashing a Lenovo mini pc motherboard.
I've used CH347/CH341A EEPROM programmers before for GPU modification and hardware repair, but am concerned about the possibility that these boards may have some protections in place.
If anyone has any useful info or has done this before, it would be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately I'm a couple MB short on my limit for the BIOS for Lenovo M90q Gen 4, but it can be found here.

I'm new to this forum, so if I misread the guide and missed some info, please just let me know and I'll be happy to fix it.
Thanks!
