Lenovo Yoga 500 Splashscreen Logo
#1
So after hours of trials , i have given up to get rid of this weird Lenovo bios logo myself and requesting some guidance.

I  have used Phoenix Tools to extract bios file "D3CN355WW.cap" and it was a success.

However despite using xsearch and renaming all extensions to bmp gif jpg pcx , i was not able to find that logo just a bmp logo of the company in orange and darkblue.

Laptop Details : Yoga 500-14ISK Laptop (ideapad)
http://pcsupport.lenovo.com/tr/en/produc.../downloads

I really appreciate if there is an easier way to get this done.

I am also attaching the bios file for your information.

Attached Files
.rar   D3CN35WW.rar (Size: 3.07 MB / Downloads: 19)

I found some image files from your attach bios file.
Could you tell me what is current logo for your laptop.

Another question,i think cap bios file ,it will has secure protect for bios writed.
I mean it will not flashing normally if we do any modification.

Do you have other ways to dump current bios and flash it again??
Iike INTEL fpt tool ,maybe you can test it.

Just tried and able to flash with the file you have provided by using the original Lenovo Update Utility successfully.

I have just replaced the original one before starting the automated flashing process.

However , the logo is still same.

Now i am playing  with uefitool and able to get rom file out of this cap (capsul) , but still cant find the image inside.

Thanks for your time and effort genius239!

Sorry for late reply back , i was upgrading my HDD to SSD.

So i have tried both of those bios files you have provided but unfortunately that ugly lenovo logo is still showing up.

I am getting the confirmation of bios has been flashed and boot up with default bios settings but as i stated above , the logo is sitting there.

Thanks genius239! That has worked!

Now i have Lenovo logo as simple and cool looking as white font on black.

People using Yoga 500 14ISK can download this if they would like to get rid of the ugly logo.

So would you please pm me which apps and few tips if needed to use so that i can put something different by myself?

Have a great day!

I didn't do anything i think.
I only replace location of two image on module.

If it work fine ,it prove my hypothesis.
It need recalculate checksum ,but i still can't understand it at all.
As only change location didn't need to calcaulate checksum in theory.
