MSI MS-7187 request
#1
Hi, ive been trying to mod this myself but it seems im on over my head, i was wondering if anyone more experienced could please mod this. i get the "!!! Bios version not 6.0 !!!" error in modbin6 and i do not know how to disable the crc and that type of thing. The motherboard is inside of a Medion PC and they don't seem to have any support up for this mobo anymore because its fairly old.

Motherboard : MSI
Model : MS-7187
Version: 13107200 08-04-2004
***I am not 100% sure of the version because it is an OEM bios, but that is exactly what it said under modbin6. Also it is fairly old so no official download link but id be happy to post a copy of my bios for download, let me know if it is possible to mod it, it is a Phoenix-Award bios.***

if you can help, please let me know and ill post a link to download a copy of the bios. Thanks in advance.

ive just managed to go thru the bios settings and from what i can see the version is actually 1.16
ill try and get a link to an official one if possible if not ill upload a copy of mine, and the bios settings screen does say "Award Bios" so i believe its possible to mod it, just out of my league.

this is not what we want , oembios.bin is one of the oem bios files which checks for slic/slp in the bios and activates windows if found

Please download Winflash and use it to save a backup of your bios then upload the backup

thank you very much, ive actually just opened it myself in modbin6 and many options seem enabled but in the bios menu i havn't seen any of these, would it be because of the oembios.bin file not allowing it?
after you finish please let me know what i need to do, and the safest way(i know there is no real safe way but the least risky) to flash it (no floppy drive, and no access to one)

please take your time, thanks in advance

Yes, I see what your saying, a lot of the options are already enabled. The oembios.bin file isn't holding anything back, its unrelated. But it doesn't make sense that you aren't seeing the menus in the real deal. They are active. The only thing I see is PIC Express hidden which has nothing of use.

oembios.bin has nothing to do with anything except activation , its just there to activate windows if SLIC/SLP is in the bios

It doesnt affect the bios in any other way , doesnt affect what options you see either!
