N43SM BIOS Unlock

I have a ASUS N43SM.

HM65
American Megatrend BIOS (CPU-z says so)

i5 2450
4GB D3
750G
GT 630M 2G D3 (GT 540M rebrand)


I need a BLCK adjustment as well as XTU and XMP support. Also a fan control option (or thermal) might be nice to have.
Also for the GPU, max voltage is 0.980V (nvidia inspector values), is it possible to have 1.000V or 1.050v?

I tried (see attached bios file).
BLCK adjustment possibly unlocked, couldn't find XMP option in bios (but there are ram frequency options if you want to force a higher frequency), fan control possibly unlocked. I have no idea on how to get XTU supported, just try every version of XTU, one of the newer versions may work?

GPU vbios has not been touched, but this is something that has a good chance of being possible if attempted, I just dont have the time to do this mod.

If you test it then please report result, I can unlock more if this version has unlocked anything for you.

Do i flash with winflash (downloaded from ASUS website)?



EDIT: I tried winflash with the file you posted. Winflash says that version is older and i can't use it

What version is your bios?

I may be able to mod the bios file to show a different version (as I had to do with my notebook).

Try this one.

Just rename it to N43SMAS.209 (delete .zip at the end). It's not zipped.

This might be stupid to ask. But when I right click the BIOS file. In properties it doesn't have the .zip extension, only .209

It's not a real zip file. All I did was rename it to .zip just so I could attach it to my post.

It really shouldn't matter what the extension is, winflash should know what to do.

It says the same D: "bios is older than current version"



I'm going to try to flash it with a flasher I downloaded from the AMI website, going to report back soon.

I have one more trick up my sleeve if your AMI tool doesn't work.
