Don't give up just yet. Try some other key combinations, Toshiba has it a little different FN + ' , FN + N , FN+B , FN+ ~ ,FN+END , try combination with windows key instead fn also and try some keys alone. Every time unplug adapter , hold keys or key , plug in while still holding it and press power button. Indicator that you are in recovery should be 100% speed blowing fan. But it's not clear if that's the case for every laptop. Toshiba is usually referring in their manual to some key being a bios key, and it says usually it's some key right next to the space key. Try to find readme in your bios exe or somewhere , and google to try find that key.

If nothing works, you can do what I did yesterday to recover totally unrecoverable bios. Check out my topic (x121e recovery mode) . You will need usb spi programmer , adapter, ic test clip (soic8 sop8 except if your laptop has different chip, but hardly unlikely),and some technical skills.

Hi did you manage to fix the bios issue? I have the exact same problem. I flash the modded bios. Had the extra hidden tabs and all worked perfectly. Couple of days later I started tweaking my bios and turned on the internal graphics card in the bios. Should've never done that. The whole system is locked down now and with the exact same problems that you are describing including the rebouts. Connecting to an external screen did not work at all... Hope you have good news :Smile

use Recovery Procedure :

- Performing the emergency flash:
- Shutdown the netbook (notebook)
- Remove all peripheral devices
- Remove battery, Remove AC power cord
- Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds (battery and AC power still out), then release
- Put the USB Memory Stick in the USB port
- Hold "Fn" + "Esc" and plug the AC power cord in
- Now press the power button (whilst still holding Fn + Esc).
Wait until the fan will run, then release "Fn" + "Esc" keys
- The fan will run for about 2-10 minutes and the USB drive activity LED will blink
- I think the netbook rebooted automatically. If it doesn't, unplug the AC power cord once the fan has turned off

The bios should be updated with the modified BIOS, and boot as per normal.

Hi what should we do with the dump files that are being exported by Andy's tool? Only copy the recover file (renamed .fd file) or copy the dumpfiles with it too?

cheers
