New, not sure what to do
#1
I have an HP Pavilion Slimline s3710t CTO model.
Motherboard is Irvine-GL6E.
Bios is Phoenix - Award Bios v6.00PG
Bios revision 521 Bios date 11/11/08

I want to update the bios. Reading around in the forums and from Bios update page and I am just confused and lost on what to do. Can I update my Bios from here or should I go to Bios Agent. I don't want to mess anything up.

I am running Windows 7 64 bit.

Im in the same boat here
I have a Sony VGN-FE41M
Motherboard is Intel 945PM
BIOS Version/Date Phoenix Technologies LTD R0200J3, 05/02/2007
SMBIOS Version 2.40

I am happy to go with bios agent, however would this unlock my bios which ultimately i want as i will be doing a processer upgrade t7600 and memory as sony say 2gb ram is max were intel says 4gb is max so i presume this will be controled/capped off somwere ...or not ?

After checking out a few other threads at different sites also, and following a lot of suggestions, which none had worked, I decided to try something different. None of this had happened until after I installed an Azio Netis PCI-E wireless card. It took me a little time to think that it possibly could be the wireless card. So I took the card out and shut down the computer and it shut down properly. Put the card back in and clicked on shut down. It went through the process and then it shut off but after 1 second it started to boot up again like before. So I know what the problem is with my computer.
