Pavilion dm1 1200ev not recognising SSD disks
#1
I think that is bios fault or lock causes makes the laptop boot in ahci mode with simple HDD .There is not any option in the bios settings, is there any way that you could help me please!!
I checked with a Patriot Blast 120gb and with Corsair Force LS 120gb but is hanging with a dash at the top left corner after the hp post screen......
After a lot of checks ram , hdd etc I figured that if I go back with old hdd boots like a charm........

Do you have any thoughts ???????

I have exactly the same problem on my WR460EA dm1-200ev sp51980 bios. After post it stucks on dash with any ssd disk.
I found a very temporary solution by accident to boot up.
Put a bootable windows 7 installation in a usb stick.
Install windows 7 (installation works and ssd is recognised if you boot from usb stick).
After you install windows 7 when you restart the computer through windows it will reboot and not stuck on dash. If you shutdown and open it from power button the computer will stuck on the dash after the post. Computer will stuck on dash after windows update too for some crazy reason!!
Everytime you need to enter windows, insert the windows 7 usb stick and boot from there, let it load and click x without continuing windows installation. The computer will restart and for some insane reason it will not stuck on dash and open properly!!!!!!!!

This issue is beyond me!!!!! I have searched everywhere for a modded bios or anything on internet to solve this problem and this post of yours was the only thing i could find. Help would be a super life savior if anyone knows what is the problem. I am sick and tired of entering windows installation and then exiting to boot up my computer. This happens only with ssd, not with normal hard drive Angry Angry .
This is a bios bug or limitation. Computer stucks also if you put the bootable windows 7 stick and don't press a button to boot up in time fast. If you enter and exit windows installation when the computer restarts it won't stuck on usb boot up or ssd boot up!!!!!!! This is insane!!!

Tons of people have this problem and i hope my temporary solution to help. If anyone have an idea for a permanent solution i would praise him forever.
