Hi!

First post here. I found this thread http://www.bios-mods.com/showthread.php?tid=786 when looking to overclock my CPU. Accordingly it is possible to change the bios to support newer CPUs, am I correct? The problem is the small differ ans between the two mobo (narra and ivy8). Can it be done anyway?

Is it also possible to unlock the bios allowing oc?

I will check for bios unlocking, as for that thread, at the time 1234s282 was doing a procedure we found out isn't what adds CPU support.We are working on the correct method, and ill get back to you soon.

OK, we have literally just gotten the latest AM3 cpu microcode out of the Gigabyte Mobos. I have submitted some test versions of my work on other boards, and we will wait for a reply to see if there's any luck. Just read this forum area for details, as well as the blog.

Any progress on this? In the same situation. M2N68-LA trying to put a AMDX250OCGQBOX proc into it. Got a bad processor from HP and frustrated trying to get a workable CPU.

Hm... can you verify whether this is an AMI bios or not, as none of my tools are loading it succesfully, despite it being a ROM file.

Installed the processor today with only minor issues, the fan power is a 4-prong and the mobo is 3- it still works I'm just not sure about the control. No problems with Windows, processor identified by Cpuid but not by anything else. I'll update with any issues.
