Phenom II X4 B99 or the 955  (BOTH HARD TO FIND) the fastest quads on the 95w spectrum.the warning on the page about the am2+ cpus only may be deprecated info that should have been removed or suggesting that your am3 cpu will run @ am2+ bus speeds.

while the B99 processor is nearly hard to find, the 95 watt version of the 955 (on the other hand) is easier to get as I got one myself (it's HDX955WFK4DGM) - look it up at this CPU-World page.  The B99 CPU is HP part no. 647012-001 (look for that one either on eBay or Amazon)

The 955 has a 125W TDP however - I think these boards were rated at 95W

Most of the 955 CPUs (rev. C2 & C3 BE) were rated at 125w except for the HDX955WFK4DGM version (rev. C3 non-BE), which was the latest revision and has a TDP rating of 95w.

Yeah I tried it, said incompatible, Rather than version v5.59 it's version bios v5.49... same mod im sure to make in the bios ... it's not the same though .. may need phoenix editor i think to extract?

Just bought Phenom ii x4 650T 95W cpu...
Thought it works with Compaq presario cq5105sc

Would it be possible to flash HP bios to compaq board... would there be a change to get the cpu working that way?
