Pegatron M2N78-LA BIOS Update Issue
#11
I am having similar problem.

I have HP p6102f and upgrade the wrong motherboard BIOS on my system and now fans go high and system powers OFF itself.

HP support sucks.

It's so un-professional that the BIOS update doesn't check whether it's updating on the right h/w or not.

That being said, I am unable to rollback to older BIOS version provided 5.08 or 5.16.

Any help to rollback would be useful.

As you can see on the previous page there is a posibility to force the board to flash the latest BIOS because you can do it with the standard award recovery method
BIOS recovery

Sometimes you just have to try to be sure it is not working...

My model is different(p6102f) than in discussion here...
Latest stable known BIOS for that model and my motherboard is 5.14. Any chance if you have it??

But your Mainboard is exactly the same!
Maybe after flashing your PC is recognized as an other model but this should not be a problem when everything works, right?
Be confident and try the recovery with the 5.29... My technician told me, this'll work just fine!

Hi there,

I just did the BIOS flash tonight. It's working fine. Fantastic, thanks to you.
The BIOS still has one prob though, since I think it's made for a different model, it doesn't recognize my CPU, just shows "AMD CPU unknown model".

Is there anyway you can find version 5.19 of the BIOS? That would really be great!

Again, thank you for helping me. Big Grin
Merry Christmas!

Wich proc are you using? The older BIOS normally also has the older modules (as AGESA is)... Maybe we can give it a try updating AGESA and/or microcode...

Guys I am having the same issue its a pain in my a** my cpu fan revs up and slows down even at idle, and this all started after i updated my bios, i cant get anywhere with HP i was on the phone with them for 3 hrs they are ridiculous. I have the same motherboard but my pc is a diff model HP Elite9140f. I would really appreciate it if someone could assist me in fixing this problem, its got me so worried cause I refuse to send my desktop to HP they are crooked thief's and I don't trust them at all (sad to say) thank you so much in advance!

Calm down, I will please your a** to make you happy again. Wink
Take this BIOS and flash it onto your board and the cooler noise will be gone till summer... Wink On page 1 of this thread you can read what you have to do to successfully flash the BIOS. Someone maybe even able to set the CPU-support to an actual state.
