Hello Jupy,

BIOS Mod V2 is complete! The modified BIOS image can be found at the bottom of this post.

I have added the "DVMT 3.0 Mode" and "Pre-Allocated Memory Size" settings under the Advanced Menu. Note: These settings may have very little - or no - real effect on your computer. It varies from laptop to laptop. They should work though.

Generic Warnings/Disclaimers:

Quote:Please remember to take proper precautions when flashing your BIOS. Even if the BIOS image is safe, the flashing process can still fail. Make sure that [if applicable] your notebook is fully charged (100%), that the power adapter is properly connected, and that the chance of a power outage occurring is as minimal as possible. Do not interrupt the flashing process. If possible, it is a good idea to have a working CRISIS recovery disk handy when flashing your BIOS. Use the flashing instructions for your particular computer brand. DO NOT DO ANYTHING UNNECESSARY!!!

I take absolutely NO responsibility for ANY damages that may occur to you, your computer, your personal belongings, your neighbor's cat, or any other personnel or equipment as a direct or indirect result or consequence of your, or any one else's, use or misuse of any of the files that are in this archive at the present or at any time in the past or the future. You assume full responsibility for any damages or inconveniences that may occur by choosing to flash, or otherwise use or misuse, this image or any of the other files within this archive.

Have fun! Smile

Please remember to post the results of the BIOS flash!

Hello Steven,
first of all thanks (again and again!) for your work.
Unfortunately this time nothing happened! No trace of gpu settings in the advanced menu, maybe due gpu hardware incompatibility (GeForce Go7300 128 MB) ?
However, if you do not feel it's necessary to make a further check , we can consider the bios-mod completed.
Best regards.

Hello Jupy,

The 3rd BIOS mod is complete. The modified BIOS image can be found at the bottom of this post.

As you requested, I have made an attempt to change the BIOS Setup Utility language from English to Italian. I have never done this before and I have not been able to find information about this process online. My modification may or may not have any real effect on your BIOS. I can assure you that this image will not brick your notebook, however.

Acer TravelMate 4200
Système D'exploitation Windows 7 sp1 x64 bit
CPU : intel core 2 cpu t7400 @2.16 (http://ark.intel.com/fr/products/27256/I...67-MHz-FSB)
RAM : 4,00 Go (2.99 Go utilisable)
I updated the BIOS his problem (update working well) (NO PROBLEM)
PHLASH16 /X /S /FORCE
but once I start vmware I have this error message
This virtual machine is configured for 64-bit guest operating systems. However, 64-bit operation is not possible.

This host supports Intel VT-x, but Intel VT-x is disabled.

Intel VT-x might be disabled if it has been disabled in the BIOS/firmware settings or the host has not been power-cycled since changing this setting.

(1) Verify that the BIOS/firmware settings enable Intel VT-x and disable 'trusted execution.'

(2) Power-cycle the host if either of these BIOS/firmware settings have been changed.

(3) Power-cycle the host if you have not done so since installing VMware Workstation.

(4) Update the host's BIOS/firmware to the latest version.

For more detailed information, see http://vmware.com/info?id=152.
the same as I was before enabling virtualization

you have a solution

Hello karim,

Have you tried turning off the power after turning on VT-x in the BIOS? Also, be sure to save your changes in the BIOS before shutting down the PC.

Hello Jupy,
So cool to hear you've upgraded your Core Duo T2xxx to a Core2Duo T7600. I didnt know such upgrade was possible.
Currently, Im trying to do myself a similar upgrade for a Acer aspire 5610: from a CoreDuo T2300 to a CoreDuo T2600. Which is not an big upgrade, but I was not aware the thing youve done was possible.
Anyhow, after installing the T2600 I try to start up the laptop and it says the following: "The file is possibly corrupt. The file header checksum does not match the computer calculated checksum".
Ive already upgraded my Bios to Acer version 3.6
Could you or anyone else help me out?
Thanks!

I've changed the CPU of my Acer Aspire 5612 from Core Duo T2xxx to Core2Duo T7600, which has Virtualization and 64 bit.
I don't know which menu it's possible to unlock, the only thing i've found in the Forum is about AHCI and it seems that it's not present.
What I need (if possible), is Virtualization and other features that You can discover/unhide
