[QUESTION] Acer Aspire v7 582PG - Bios upgrade
#1
Hello!
Im wondering how to flash a bios without any os (original HDD went to trash, so i can't use acer recovery. Forgot to backup)
Now i have - no OS
Bios works - even with advenced options
Cant upgrade it because i have acer file in .exe - after repack there's still no .fd file inside.
Tried method for insyde bioses - still stay at black screen with nothing happend (got a bios.fd from other pc)
Tried also run update by dos - works fine untill next restart - "invalid firmware"
I can't install any os because everyone stucks at logo (win7,8,8.1 and 10) - always the same.
Just logo without any dots.
Got any ideas what to do next ?
insyde h2o rev 3,7 bios 2.14

Run ZRQ_230.exe (from BIOS_Acer_2.30_A_A.zip) on other computer to appear a window with an error.
Don't close it and go %temp% folder.
Find folder with name 7zS9192.tmp or similar.
Find ZRQ.fd file in it.
Copy it to other place and close an error's window.

Found it - I put it on a usb stick.
Tried to flash - nothing. Black screen.
Run it twice and bios started. Then - completly bricked.
I cant even run bios. No led blinks etc.

Did you removed laptop battery when used "recovery mode"?
Try this - https://www.bios-mods.com/bios-recovery/...-recovery/
You can try previous version of BIOS. E.g. BIOS 2.24
Note that recovery name is ZRQ.fd

1) remove AC jack, Main Battery, and CMOS Battery
2) remove HDD and all DIMMs
3) wait 10 mins
4) press and hold power button for 30 sec.
5) install CMOS Battery and one DIMM only
6) insert recovery usb stick with ZRQ.fd
7) hold down Win+Esc and inject AC jack (without Main Battery!)
8) press power button
9) release Win+Esc when leds illuminate
Note that "Black screen" for recovery is normal. Don't reboot or turn off laptop until it do itself!
