[REMOVED]Need Mod for HP TouchSmart tm2 1070us
#1
Hi Folks,

I am looking to change out my current wlan card with a new one. Need to mod my BIOS since I'm receiving an Error Message: 104-Unsupported wireless network device detected. System Halted. Remove device and restart.

I currently do not have windows Installed, Just Ubuntu. So I have no clue on how to get a dump for you guys.

What do I do, can anyone help me with this? My BIOS experience consist of re ordering boot sequences. Thats It. Belows all the information I was able to dig up from my computer. Hope it helps. I think I need something done with my "whitelist"?

Current Kernal: 2.6.35-28-generic
Distribution Ubuntu 10.10

Thanks, Ive been thinking of dual booting for a while now anyways. This just made the decision for me. Thanks again for the quick help.

Just wanted to confirm that this does work on my Machine. Currently using my new WLAN card as we speak.

I have a dual boot now. It works for both Windows 7 and Ubuntu 10.10.

Only discrepancy: Currently the light that's suppose to be white when wifi is on stays orange in Windows and will sometimes blink from white to the orange a few times in Ubuntu. Looking in to how to fix this, but its more of a side project since the color of a light does not bother me all that much.

Hope others find this, It took a whole Minute to do!
