In fact there's juste one question that affects my decision ! Do I need to unsolder the chip ? Or the use of a SOIC8 SOP8 test clip is enough ?

If SOIC8 is enough, I accept your help in this aventure ! Is there a better programmer or I can take either ?

Thanks a lot !!

Ok You have to look for Eeprom Chips present on your MoBo and result.rar needed to do It !
Then We have to find a SPI PGM which is compatible with your Eeproms (cheap and good) I have got expansive ones and don't consider for You !

Ok but I don't have any result.rar file because the tool needed don't want to start.
If I understand, we need to know the eeprom chips model ? If it's right, I can identify the model by comparing schema and MoBo

Ok friend,
You have to know that Eeprom Chips have to be strictly near Chipset Controller as It needs power to write on, so in this case is right !
I can see the Chipset near Eeprom.
Normaly any PC is based on a MoBo with NorthBridge - SpouthBridge - ICH etc.
NorthBridge and SouthBridge are the Chipset to drive Graphic - CPU - RAM etc. and to read and write Eeprom Chip !
Now We have to read Chip and make a Bios Backup to get a copy for emergency !
Then You will upload It here and I will check with original one.
Let me know

So if I want to make a BIOS backup, I need to use SPI PGM .. Right ???
And if I need to use that, I need to by one ... Is there a specific model ?

Thanks

I don't understand ?!? Bios Backup is a file which We can save into the HD !
You are talking about a Chip Clone = Buy a second chip and copy into that Bios !
But We have Always to get a Bios Backup file and then write It into new chip !
Or You are talking about the Programmer ??!!
I was thinking You have got already the Programmer !
Let me know better please

1/ I don't know how to make a Bios Backup file. Softwares like FPT don't work ...

2/ I already have a programmer but I don't have a test clip ... Is it necessary ?

Sorry for this misunderstanding

Hi friend,
I have to say that many users more than in the past have tools to modify and reflash Mod Bios like You.
The Pomona Soic Clip (not Always work on all MoBos) is not necessary but without It You have to desolder chip from MoBo and use an adapter to get into the chip to read It.
