I've been unable to flash any modified BIOS on the Acer Aspire v3 772G. Anyone knows how to overcome this? I'm willing to pay for the modder's time.

BIOS is at this link: http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/...13_A_A.zip

If not, does anyone know how I can enable reading/flashing the ME region?

Thank you for your help.

Ahh...fixed it myself. Used the Intel FPTW tool to backup current bios. Modified a particular location by trial and error and flashed it. In case anyone is interested, let me know, I'll help you fix it.
They use some sort of certificate mechanism that prevents any modified BIOS to be flashed the regular way, this is the only way we can flash on this laptop.

Yes, if none of the modded firmwares are getting flashed, then your current best bet is to flash it through the Intel ME flash toolkit.
But since you wanted to unlock the advanced menu, it may require a bit more work. I wanted to enable VT-d, and it was quite easy for me.
For your laptop, I've seen unlocked BIOS, though, so I don't think it's a problem.

I don't remember what your processor is.
Here are a couple: http://forum.techinferno.com/general-not...ptops.html

The 8 series one is also somewhere in the forum itself. That's what I had to use.

And, don't do this if you don't know what you're doing. It's not as easy as modding BIOS files. Anything you change will be directly flashed, without any checks. So beware.

In case you can't figure it out, and I have time, I'll look into it.

But your problem is probably a version check error, which can be disabled in the ini file available in the same directory as your bios flashing tool.

Hey vegetto, what did you do exactly to unlock the advanced menu? I got a 772g as well but I have no idea where to begin with lol

Hi Everyone,

I called tech support about not supporting VT and not having the option in the Bios.

NOW of course I would look in the BIOS/UEFI BEFORE buying the laptop. I just didn't expect a laptop that expensive not to support it!!

Can someone help me with my model? Aspire V3 772G
Intel Core i7. on the bottom it says: V3-772G-747a161.12TBDWakk.

I bought this laptop for using many vm's with Hyper-V. I also upgraded the memory to 32GB and added an extra hdd of 750GBSSD for the hyperV VM's...

Can someone help me to enable the VT feature?

I am willing to donate!

Bios version: InSydeH20 rev 2.7
