Hi everyone!

I've just installed bios 2.21 on my Acer V5-131.
I was wondering whether you tried to overcome the video memory 128 mb limit in the advanced tab, did you?

Hey..

in the unlocked Bios you can change the memory size. But i'm not sure whether it works. In the main bios tab are still 128mb shown, in running windows the usable RAM goes down if you cange the size in Bios settings and with a tool i havent checked this yet. In games it seems to work better with 256mb settings.

Hi there!

Sorry but I didn't get whether you increased the memory in the main tab, how much did you gain? My laptop still displays 128 mb in the main tab..

I am now running bios version 2.17. Would like to downgrade to 2.09 for its sata3 capabilities.

Request a BIOS.fd file of the 2.09 or 2.04 version to do a downgrade by recovery using a usb drive.

Ok friend,
there are two MoBo and two Bios They depend on different Chipset :

1. Intel NM70 (Bios NM70x64.fd)
2. Intel HM77 (Bios NM70x64.fd)

So You have to identify your MoBo Chipset and choice the Bios for your Chipset 1 or 2, then rename It
like Recovery name "BIOS.fd" an copy to an USB Fat32 Formatted Stick and do the Recovery Procedure :

- Performing the emergency flash:

- Shutdown the netbook (notebook)
- Remove all peripheral devices
- Remove battery, Remove AC power cord
- Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds (battery and AC power out)
- Then release It and Put the USB Memory Stick in the USB port
- Hold "Fn" + "Esc" and plug the AC power cord in
- Now press the power button (whilst still holding Fn + Esc).
Wait until the fan will run, then release "Fn" + "Esc" keys
- The fan will run for about 2-10 minutes and the USB drive activity LED will blink
- I think the netbook rebooted automatically. If it doesn't, unplug the AC power cord once the fan has turned off

The bios should be updated with the modified BIOS, and boot as per normal.

That version is Modded and has Slic 2.1 + Menu Tabs Unlocked !

Got to learn about the tweaks. Any idea how do i disable speedstep (EIST) ? These are the options that are closest I could find. Any ideas?

P-States(IST) - Enabled (Enable processor performance states)
C-States - Enabled (Enable processor idle power saving states (C-States))
Enhanced C-States - Enabled (Enable P-State transitions to occur in combination with C-States)
Enable C3/C6/C7 (3 separate options, all Enabled)
EC Turbo Control Mode - Disabled
Energy Efficient P-state - Enabled (Enable/Disable Energy Efficient P-state feature)

Some of them are unlockable from EFI Code, but I need some Screen Shots to see what is possible !
