[REQUEST] Dell Inspiron 5675 CPU Upgrade
#1
Hi everyone,

On Dell Inspiron 5675 and I would like to change the cpu to Ryzen 3600, but unfortunately current BIOS doesn't support it.
https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/...erid=j2thk

Will somebody able to unlock this feature so it would be possible to upgrade CPU?
is there any way of modding it or doing whatever it takes to make it work ?

As I read somewhere "Microcode" also exists, but couldn't find it anywhere.
Any suggestion will be useful, Thank you in advance.

Hello.
Your model is DELL Inspiron MAX 5675
This model comes with an X370 motherboard that allows you to upgrade your chosen AMD Ryzen 5 3600.
In order for you to be able to insert this processor, you need to add microcode. Only then can you produce the model without any problems.

In order for me to be able to modify the BIOS, you need a dump.

Do you have a programmer?

Please write here the full model of your computer

Hello!

I realize this is 2025 and that the latest bios for the Dell Inspiron 5675 is 1.5 (2022). They certainly won't release another bios.

I am stuck with a 1700x and the motherboard can support a Ryzen 3600. All it takes is a great hack.

Any kind soul willing to take a look at this?

Thanks in advance!

It has been over a year since this post, I hope the admins don´t object to bumping it.

I am nearly giving up hope, but I was thought it was worth another try before I resign to the fact that I will be stuck forever with a 1700x, lol.

Thanks in advance!

This seems to be the only possible solution up until now.

Thanks for sharing this... fascinanting discussion! Unfortunately microsoldering is not in my skill set, and the upgrade to a 2700x from a 1700x doesn't seem worth all the trouble.

If the only possible solution is to make a 5675 think it is a 5676 this a dead end, as the 5676 is similarly stuck at 2xxx series.

Dell never made a similar model with support for 3xxx series. [censored]!
