[REQUEST] HP Pavilion G6-1170ev Bios Ver F66
#1
Hello and congrats for this wonderful forum and your outstanding knowledge regarding Bios Modifications .
I have a small request about my laptop and i am kindly ask you to unlock the advance menu from it if its possible.I think its RSA but i m not sure so if there is another way to change some settings please let me know.I would like to undervolt the CPU just a click so i will lower my CPU temps .Also i will like to enable Fixed mode on graphics cause its on dynamic and last think i will like to force the PCI-E of my ATI card to "work" on PCI-E 2.0 x16 as the motherboard and chipset supports and not as PCI-E 1.1 x8 with a game on high performance mode and power manager set to high performance.

Laptop Model : HP Pavilion G6-1170ev
Bios Version: F66
Bios Link: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp60501-61000/sp60864.exe

Please help!
Thank you in advance

Thank you for your quick response to my problem fjfc
i saw a threat above that i can do some changes using BOOTX64 but the only example that i saw is for enable SATA and change the logo. Can i do the changes i need using EFI shell? And if i can how can i decompile the bios menu to find the addresses that belongs to those settings so i can use the proper command to change them?

I can also flash back an older bios on my laptop like this one:

Model: HP Pavilion G6-1170ev
Bios Version: F52
Bios Link: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp55501-56000/sp55717.exe

Can you unlock the advance menu on this bios version?

thanks

Yes I can mod it, but be aware that I can not guarantee that you'll not be caught in RSA check, it's important to know how to recover in case of brick, some interesting material on this is here:

Dear fjfc

thank you very much for your help and the direction that you gave me it was very useful indeed
Before i try to flash your modded version of bios i have flash the same version you gave me but the official one in case of denial of flash due to downgrade. When i tried to flash yours afterwards i got the error message " Error boot block cannot support to downgrade. The system bios will not be updated" its weird because i m able to downgrade with the official one. Also tried to flash an older official than this (Ver F41) with success but when i tried to flash the modded that you gave me which is newer (ver F52) i got exactly the same message so i can not flash the modded bios.

Please Help!

Thank you again for everything

Nope Unfortunately i am getting the same error when i tried to flash the modded one
" Error boot block cannot support to downgrade. The system bios will not be updated"

Is there any way to bypass this check?
I have found something by editing and changing the iscflash.dll but its a bit complicated for me .

I have just Looked into the insydeflash log file and i saw this message between the lines "Current BIOS version is bigger than the version setted in Ini"

Thanks

Is there any Solution to this problem? i tried to flash the bios with flashit tool also but i got the same results Sad

I have also noticed something. When i tried to open the latest official bios ver f66 (sp60864.exe) which i mention on my 1st post
with phoenixtool the 1st message i got was "decrypted" is that means that it has not RSA checks?

Thanks again fjfc for your time.
